Secrets of showbiz

It really is amazing how TV programmes are heavily edited to give the illusion the production companies desire. For example, I only recently found out that in real life, Scooby Doo can’t actually talk at all! He is in fact just an ordinary dog, and the speech in the show is dubbed in afterwards. Amazing. Also, they give the impression that his owner is Shaggy, but in real life he is actually Fred’s dog! (and Fred’s real name is Harvey would you believe, and lives in London.) It is all a carefully crafted drama, and so remember the real life status of the characters can be very different from how it is portrayed on the box.

  1. It is a revelation and when you know then YOU KNOW and there is no going back. So many illusions have been shattered for me in recent years as the ‘magic’ of television has faded but the stand out has to be Mr Grimnasty from the Rupert Bear soap. It has come to light that he was neither grim or nasty but just a normal jobbing puppet actor. I was in tears when I found out.
